A naga named Panheiba became the raja of Manipur and adopted the Hinduism and changed the name of the state to Manipur.
He also changed his name to Gharib Nawaz which is very interesting.
What does Gharib Nawaz has to do with Hinduism and how come the king chose the name is not very clear as the later rajas used the names as Jai Singh, Gambhir Singh etc.?
