Bekal Utsahi.

He was an unknown person till the time i realized that i know him.
I was walking with my friend on the footpath after my visit to purana quila.he was there to pick up his grandson from the school.He was in the traditional kurta pajama and has came in his maruti alto if i remember correctly.

When i saw him something struck in my mind that i have seen him somewhere.I recollected everything from all the corners of my mind.'oh! yes, he is Bekal Utsahi.'i told my friend.A ghazal witten by him''fati kameez nuchi aasteen kuch to hai'' reminded me his name.

He said let's go and speak to him.as usual i was hesitant to move because of my shy nature,but then i went close to him.After greeting salaam i told him that i love his poetry.He said that he was glad to hear that and asked our names.When i told him i am from ballia he said he shared stage with hafiz baliyawi in many Mushairas.Although i had never seen hafiz saheb personally apart from the board outside his house.

My friend told me that he left the world previous year.Bekal saheb told us that since he is now a rajsabha MP and his daughter stays in delhi,he often stays here.He is originally from balrampur and his full name is Lodhi Mohd. Shafi khan belongs to a Zamindar family.He also got a Padmashri for his contributions to urdu poetry.Now he has to leave but it was the best surprize i ever got.Now we don't find such humble people anymore who existed in that era.we started for our place after that.
