FDI in e-commerce

At present FDI in B2C e-commerce is not allowed. So if there is a company like Amazon.in or eBay, they have to work with Indian Company which will source the item and deliver the item at your doors.

Amazon.in here works only as a platform and not allowed to have their own setup.

But still they are able to bypass the whole ban on B2C business.

It is similar to the ban on imported goods which led to the smuggling business in the 1990s when people will get reebok shoes through black market.

My point is why not allow FDI in e-commerce in B2C also because the ban is anyway not working.

I hope policy makers will understand it.
