She participated in freedom movement with Dadabhai Naoroji.
Khursed Ben Naoroji wanted to visit Bannu in NFWP for doing anti dacoity
work in those areas. The then British Indian Government refused for that.
She then requested for going to Punjab and visit Mianwali and Dera Gazi Khan districts.
Prohibitory orders were issued restricting her to visit Punjab, Baluchistan and NWFP areas.
She was arrested in Bihar in 1942 by the Bihar Government under Defence Rule 26 for allegedly being a member of shadow All India Congress Committee (A.I.C.C).
She regularly communicated with Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan regarding the anti dacoity work done by the congressmen in Bannu district of NWFP.
In her letter addressed to Sir Richard Tottenham, Addl. Secretary, Home of Government of India using her house adsress as 78, Napean Sea Road Bombay she had challenged the prohibitory order issued against her citing her work in Bannu was only humanitarian in nature.
